Speed of Sound

I was removing the applause from a violin-piano recording, and noticed that the transients in the first few hand hits of the applause were offset from one channel to the other.

I measured the time difference--about .006 seconds, and found that this is the time sound takes to travel 6.7584 feet. This is probably the distance between the two main mics I was using.
